CLAY - William "Bill" Caroll Parker, 65, of Clay, Ky., passed away
Tuesday,
September 14, 2010, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville,
Ind.
Bill was born February 28, 1945, in Wheatcroft, Ky., to Flint and Lorene
Parker.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War for which
he received
a Purple Heart. He was a member of Wheatcroft Cumberland
Presbyterian
Church. He was an avid fisherman and loved all his grandkids.
He was
preceded in death by his parents, Flint and Lorene Parker; five
sisters,
Emma Jane Collins, Ruby Lanham, Faye Easterling, Wanda Black and
Mary Edith
Pendergraff.
Bill was survived by his wife of 19 years,
Ruthie; two sons, Billy Joe
Parker and his wife, Tanya, of Dixon, Ky.,
Jeremy Parker and his wife,
Amber, of La Center, Ky.; one stepson, Mike
Grigg and his wife, Rhonda, of
Clay, Ky.; three sisters, Betty Brown of
Clay, Ky., LaDonna Pollard of
Wheatcroft, Ky., and Girlene Gilliam of
Sebree, Ky.; two brothers, Wendell
and Deon Parker, both of Clay, Ky.; and
13 grandchildren, Brandon Grigg,
Kelly Hanor, Mallory Parker, Wade Parker,
Kolby Hanor, Madison Grigg, Blake
Hanor, Landon Grigg, Chrice Parker, Bailey
Parker, Kallie Parker, Miley
Parker and Kelsey Hanor.
Funeral services
will be conducted Friday, September 17, 2010, at 1 p.m. at
Wheatcroft
Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Dale Williams and Trent
Garrett
officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Springs Cemetery in
Wheatcroft, Ky.,
where military honors will be conducted.
Visitation will be held Thursday
from 2:30 until 8 p.m. at Vanover Funeral
Home in Clay, Ky., and Friday from
10 a.m. until service time at the church.
