Come join with us there if you can; with family, friends, or even
solo, to help honor and celebrate the outstanding legacy
of Land Clearing in Vietnam.

Registration for early attendees will commence on Thursday the 7th, at the Purks
building in Cedartown, from 1 P.M. to 4:30 P.M., and will continue on Friday
morning, from 9 to noon. Reunion events will commence on the afternoon of Friday the 8th.

Friday afternoon’s activities will feature memorial services, along with a special
dedication arranged by the Rome Plow Company, which will honor all of the men
of the respective Vietnam LC units who had been killed in action. The dedication will
then be followed with a group tour of the Rome Plow plant in Cedartown. On Friday
evening, back at our headquarters in the Purks building, a cash bar will be made
available to everyone, beginning at 5:30 p.m., with a barbecue dinner to follow at 6:30,
in the Banquet room.

On Saturday, the wives and other associated LC women have a planned Luncheon
available to them, which is scheduled to take place at 12:30 p.m. in one of the
reserved rooms within the Purks building. At the same time, the LC men are slated
to gather in the Banquet room for a ½ hour lunch period, just prior to their
regularly scheduled business meeting at 1 P.M.
For Saturday night, a cash bar will be made available for everyone at 5:30 p.m.,
in the bar area just outside the Banquet room, with a full buffet style dinner to follow,
taking place in the Banquet room at 6:30. Representatives from the Rome Plow
Company are slated to address all who are attending the Banquet, while we also
will have a featured guest speaker to address us, in the form of Lt Col Marvin Griffin,
who is the current Commander of the 62nd Engineer Battalion at Fort Hood, Texas.
Afterwards, our traditional fund raising raffle will take place, with various donated
in-sundry items on hand for all the lucky raffle winners participating in this cause.
While our Banquet is not considered to be an event requiring a dress code, we do ask that
attendees please wear something other than shorts and a T shirt, if possible.

Given that our raffle/fund-raising event depends largely on the amount of
donated items we receive from our members, we would greatly appreciate
your participation with this effort, if you might have something to donate.

As to lodgings in and around the Cedartown area, several good, clean places had
been scouted out for us in advance, with all of them offering reduced group rates,
* so long as reservations are made prior to May 1st, 2012. Anyone reserving
after that date will be subject to the regularly advertized price of the room, which
applies to all five hotels and motels participating in the offering of group rates.
In reviewing all of the lodgings featured here, you will notice that not all of these
hotels/motels are actually located in Cedartown. Because Cedartown is rather
limited, lodgings are also noted for the nearby community of Rockmart, and for
the City of Rome.

Driving directions from Atlanta :
Take I-20 West to GA Hwy 6 , north towards Austell. Continue onto U.S. 278 to East Avenue, Rockmart Hwy.
Turn left onto N. Main Street in Cedertown. Turn right onto West Avenue.

Directions from Chattanooga and points north :
Take I-24 East toward Knoxville/Atlanta, and exit onto I-75 South.Take exit # 312 , (GA State Route 53)
towards Fairmont/Rome. Turn right onto GA 53 West, then left on Turner McCall Blvd. SE
Take ramp onto Martha Berry Hwy (US 27), and continue on to Cedartown. Then turn right onto N. Main
Street, and right again onto West Avenue.
